Fountain City Productions in association with the Powerhouse Theatre Company present:

The World Premiere of

St. Alice of Chattahoochee

By Alice Johnson

A tall tale in a very small town.

There are over 30 characters in this one-woman comic odyssey

Oversexed and underappreciated, Alice begins her journey as a nine year-old in a southern suburban wasteland. Diabolically ambitious, she plans to lip synch her way to the top. Unfortunately, she is constantly thwarted by community theater directors, child beauty pageant queens, religious fanatics, uppity New Yorkers and a host of other small-minded inferiors until an event back home inspires her to healÊherself by healing others.Ê St Alice of Chattahoochee, patron saint of embarrassment and awkwardness, is here to help us all.

Alice Johnson has performed stand-up comedy all over the country. She’s a graduate from Tulane University and studied theater abroad at the University of London, Royal Holloway. Alice is a company member of Sigourney Weaver and Jim Simpson’s Bat Theater Company at the Flea Theater in NYC. She’s performed several productions at the Tony award-winning Actors Theater of Louisville. Other credits include: Sex and the City, Miramax short Films and the movie The Devil and Daniel Webster with Alec Baldwin.

Seasoned director/acting coach Rod Menzies joins the Chattahoochee. He has directed over 40 stage productions including solo shows such as: Cheryl King’s “not a nice girl”, Roz Browne's “Fried Clams With Bellies”, Nina Werman’s “Around the Way Girl”, and John Fugelsang's “Acts of Disobedience”. He was also a voice coach for the Off-Broadway hits: Ann Randolph's “Squeeze Box”, Bo Eason's “Runt of the Litter”, and Pamela Gien's “Syringa Tree”. His clients include Patricia Arquette, David Duchovny, Marcia Cross, Marishka Hargitay, Neil Patrick Harris, Sandra Oh, and Alicia Silverstone.
